As a product of an international
business family, Bjorn Kirchdorfer has experienced
the globalization of high tech business over the last
20 years. He started out in AT&T in the 1980s
in International Marketing and then moved into software
systems as part of a Bell Labs organization. Product
Management roles led to Field Sales where he has been
able to close deals on five different continents ranging
in size from $1M to $300M.
Speaking three languages fluently, Bjorn is no stranger to a number of high tech fields including wireless systems and devices, broadband/WiMax, software development, operations, field support and integration of complex systems. As part of AT&T, Lucent and Ericsson (where he was vice president, sales and marketing for wireless), his main interests are in the areas of sales/business development, (channel) marketing and product management (strategy and tactics).
Just like large companies are a great training ground for today’s management challenges, Bjorn is also a veteran of three start-up firms (2 in CA and 1 in TX) prior to becoming a founding member of his own firm in 2004. The intricacies of the start-up environment, the challenges of raising funds, and the difficulties of building both a company and products in parallel are experiences that Bjorn can bring to the table which can help large and small companies succeed in today’s new reality (post bubble).
Bjorn is a graduate of Trinity University in San Antonio where he earned a BS in Business Administration with a Minor in German. Mr. Kirchdorfer supplemented this education with a Masters Degree (MBA) in International Business from the renowned Thunderbird program in Phoenix, Arizona, as well as an Executive Education program in Sales and Marketing from the Darden School of Business.
Bjorn and his wife Deborah and their two daughters reside in the greater Austin area.
